Expert Land Management Advice

Examining the soil type under different management is a fast way to see what is happening to the land. I can show you what to look for.

It is not rocket science. it is soil science

Same soil type samples collected across neighbouring paddocks. Cracking brown clay on the left has been over cultivated. Soil structure is better below the plough zone. Cracking brown clay on the right has been over irrigated but it's starting to dry. This soil is resilient and is expected to regain its structure.

Soil condition and land management within capability

Same soil type. Samples taken <5m apart. Left is from under the fence and the right is from an over used paddock. Most of the soil carbon has been lost. Soil structure has collapsed. There is no drainage, massive loss of nitrogen and limited oxygen supply to plant roots has been dramatically impacted yield.

This paddock needs a spell from cultivation and to dry out. Then be properly planted with a succession of deep rooted perennials.
